Debbie Rochon: Best Actress, Eerie Horror Film Festival 2010, SLIME CITY MASSACRE
Well, that was exciting. After an excellent screening of SLIME CITY MASSACRE at the Warner Theatre last night, the awards ceremony for the Eerie Horror Film Festival was held tonight at 6:30 pm. Brian O'Halloran and Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick (Damien in THE OMEN remake) were among the presenters. Debbie was in good spirits and admitted she wanted the win. Anyone who knows her knows she would have been graceful if she hadn't won (I won't say if she "lost"). I think she's fantastic in the movie - as are her co-stars - and felt she deserved it. We sat in the middle of the 2200 seat theater, while Tamar and Kaelin sat in the balcony, in case Kaelin started acting up.

I think the Best Actor and Best Actress awards came second. Tamar says Kaelin cheered when Debbie won, and Debbie bounded up to the stage and said some very nice things, then returned to her seat with her award. She was happy and we were happy for her - she's the hardest working actress I know, and she's been very supportive of the project and been a good friend - a class act all the way, and she deserves a lot more recognition than she gets.

So far, three SCM cast members have won awards for their work in the film: Kealan Patrick Burke, Brooke Lewis, and now Debbie. I'm a very proud director!
